Mushrooms are good source of vitamine B,
Folic acid, Panthonic acid, Vitamine B12,Ascorbic acid & all the
vitamins, minerals,all amino acids are present. Good valuable diet for people
in this context edible mushrooms ( Calocybe indica, Plerotus sajarcaju) are
cultivated in the college campus from August to January. Mushroom cultivation as certificate course
and also as Project work.
Eco-Friendly Technology

depicting environmental issues and various Biotechnological preparations. Various
Z.P, Municipal corporation schools, Staff and students of Vijayawada visited
and appreciated and enlightened.

organized an invited lecture on Gene mapping by Dr.Naveena lavanya
latha, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnolgy, Krishna university
Nuzivid campus. She explained on Gene transfer, Mapping of genes,
Identification of genes on the chromosome
of an organism.

Workshop:
Department of Botany collaboration with IIIT (International Institute of
Information technology)Hyderabad. Conducting awareness programme on application
of Geospatial technology for academia from Botany, Zoology and Environmental
studies.

emphasized on How to protect the natural resources,How to conserve water and its management.
I, II&III B.Sc Students (CBZ&BIOTECH) attended. He
emphasized on Characters of Biotic Community , Stratification of forest,
Characters of Plant Community, Biological Spectrum, Quantitative Characters,
Synthetic Characters, Methods of Study the Plant Communities, Phytosociological
Methods, IVI & Ecological Classification of Plant Communities. He also
explained about Remote Sensing Technology and use of this technology in
controlling the Pollution & Protection of the Environment.

lecture on community ecology by Dr.Ramachandhra Prasad, Asst. Prof. Lab for
Spatial Informatics, International Institute of Technology, Gachibowli, Hyderabad
on 17-06-2013.He
emphasized on classification of plant communities like forests, deserts,
Grassland, tundra & community metabolism, stability, Edge effect, Ecotone,
Ecological indicators. The global community is an enormous mass of life &
he mentioned composition of community& also conducted practical classes.
· Department organized a guest lecture on
Horticulture by Dr. B.Siva kumari, H.O.D, Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada ,on
20-11-13.She emphasized on the scope, importance of Horticulture, recent trends
in horticulture etc.
